IFF monitors the physical well-being of all our scholars and makes sure that they are in the best physical condition, with medical intervention when needed. Recently, one of our scholars underwent a liver transplant surgery – which was funded through the foundation as well as support from concerned parents.

Recently, IFF raised Rs. 2 Lakhs for Mukesh Kumar, one of BBFS’s most valuable players, when he suffered from liver failure and had to undergo a life-saving transplant.

Mukesh has represented Delhi State in the U16 division. His skillful technique and sharp sense of tactic led him to give stellar performances at the Mahindra Youth Cup, Bangalore (April 2012) and the Italy Cup, Rimini (2012). Mukesh made a successful recovery from his illness when he participated in the Delhi leg of the Airtel Rising Stars Football Tournament in (August 2013) where he was the top scorer and was adjudged the Player of the Tournament.

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank Indian Football Foundation for supporting our family by covering the complete medical expenses of INR 1.75 lakh for my son’s operation (Mukesh) – a IFF scholar training with Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools since the last 24 months. Mukesh has been fortunate to have received the support of IFF, which has allowed him to recover from his poor medical condition and perform on the field again. I hope he gets more such opportunities and becomes a professional footballer one day. I would also like to extend my gratitude towards the Indian Football Foundation in their endeavor to support talented individuals and provide them with the opportunity to develop into world class professional football players.

- Mr. Surjeet Kumar (Mukesh Kumar’s Father)
